Restore Options

On this screen, specify the restore access, performance, and search options.

In the Database user access box, specify the state of the database during the restore.

If restoring a tablespace, you can choose to Perform the recovery while users are connected. This option only applies when restoring a tablespace. It allows other, uneffected tablespaces to remain available while the restore is in progress. This option is equivalent to the TABLESPACE ONLINE option of the DB2 RESTORE command. This option is ignored when restoring an object that is not a tablespace.

If you select the Disconnect users and prohibit access during the recovery option and the DB2 database is version 8.1 or later, then all connections to the database will be forcibly terminated prior to performing a recovery. This setting is equivalent to the DB2 QUIESCE DATABASE command. If the database version is prior to 8.1, this option has no effect and an offline restore is attempted.

To enforce an offline restore, you can choose to Abort the recovery if users are connected. If this option is selected, the restore will fail if any users are connected.

In the Restore performance box, specify the parameters for the restore. All of the fields in the Restore performance box require either a default or an entered value to continue.

For Sessions, enter a value from 1 to 32. This value specifies the number of sessions or restore streams for the restore.

For Parallelism, enter a value from 1 to 1024. This value specifies the number of DB2 concurrent processes used to read tablespaces.

For Buffers, enter a value from 2 to 16384. The minimum value for this parameter should be equal to twice the value specified in the Sessions field, above.

For Buffer Size, enter a value from 8 to 524228. The value is the number of 4 KB pages used for buffering data. The total buffer size is the buffer value multiplied by 4096.

The Back button will take you back to the Time Periods screen.

Click Next to continue.
