The Device Configuration Analyzer and Shared Drives
This is a NetBackup Enterprise Server topic.
The analyzer is also useful in analyzing shared drive (SSO) configurations. For shared drives, the analyzer checks the following:
- For duplicate robotic definitions (robot control should be on only one host).
- If robot numbers are being reused.
VERITAS recommends that all robots in your SSO configuration have unique numbers. This makes identification easier and may avoid a loss of data.
- If a drive is configured as both a shared and non-shared drive.
- For drive conflicts, such as hosts having drive information containing different attributes for the same shared drive.
For example, one host may see a shared drive's type as DLT cartridge and another host may see the type configured as 1/2 inch cartridge.
- If a shared drive has different robot drive numbers.
