Disk Storage Units

If your environment matches any of the following, the wizard can create a disk storage unit for you. You can perform backups and restores with NetBackup using a hard disk drive (or a portion of a disk drive). The wizard will create a NetBackup storage unit of type Disk.

• You do not have any disk storage units currently defined.
• You do not have any removable storage devices.
• Removable storage devices were not detected by the wizard.

  To have the wizard create a disk storage unit

The wizard sets default values for the storage unit. See Default Values for Disk Storage Units for the default values used.

You can use any location on the disk, providing there is sufficient space available to hold your backup data.

1. Click Create a disk storage unit with the specified path.
2. Enter the complete path to the file system (folder) on your drive that will be used to store your backups or click Browse to search for a folder.
