Windows Open File Backup Properties

Windows Open File Backup properties apply to selected Windows master servers. The properties appear as a tab on the Client Attributes dialog.

Windows Open File Backup properties specify whether Windows Open File Backup is to be used by a specfied client, and whether Volume Snapshot Provider or Volume Shadow Copy Service is be used as the snapshot provider.

Snapshots are a point-in-time view of a source volume. NetBackup uses snapshots to access busy or active files during a backup job. Without a snapshot provider, active files are not accessible for backup.
