The top of the screen contains the following: Search Path The current directory, where search operations will begin. Start Date End Date The beginning and end dates used in the search, which specify the range in which a file's modification date must be in order to be included in the search for files to restore. NetBackup will search for files that were made between and including these dates. Display Mode The format used in the display. Brief shows only file names, Verbose shows file names and attributes. Master Server The name of the NetBackup server that will process the restore request. Source Client The name of the client machine whose backups should be searched. Policy Type The type of policy. You can restore only to the same policy type used in the backup. Keyword Phrase A word or phrase used to search for the backup. When you restore files, you can search for files to restore by keyword phrase. Menu options: s) Select Files and Directories... Displays the selection screen, which lets you browse the filesystem to select items to restore. Files and directories that match the search path and were archived between the start and end dates are displayed. The number of levels of directories displayed is limited by the Directory Depth setting. The selection arrow pointer (->) points to items in the list; use the option keys shown at the bottom of the screen to move the pointer and select items. The options are: Zoom (I)n Changes to the directory indicated; that directory will become the current path and its files and directories will be displayed. (Z)oom Out Changes the current path to the parent directory. (S)elect Adds the indicated item to the selection list; after selecting, an asterisk (*) will mark the item. If the item is selected already, it will be removed from the selection list. (B)ack Displays the previous screen of information. (F)wd Displays the next screen of information. The options are: (A)dd Selection Adds a selection to the selection list. Choosing this option opens a dialog box in which you enter the absolute path of the file or directory to be added. These selections can contain UNIX wild card characters; the wild card characters will not be expanded in bp, they will be expanded after the backup is initiated. Un(S)elect Removes the indicated item from the selection list. (C)lear Removes all items from the selection list. (B)ack Displays the previous screen of information. Type y to use the destination path previously entered or type n to ignore the destination path entered. * If there are links in the path you are searching, NetBackup prompts you to specify whether you want to resolve the links so the paths point to the actual files or directories. To resolve the links, answer y to the "Rename hard links relative to the destination path prompt. If you do not want to resolve links, answer n. NetBackup does not resolve links if you use wildcard characters in the search directory path. Note: If you are restoring system files to a disk other than the current system disk and plan to use the other disk as the system disk with the original file paths when the restore is completed, Symantec recommends that you specify y (yes) when prompted to rename hard links and n (no) when prompted to rename soft links. * To rename soft links, answer y to the "Rename soft links relative to the destination path prompt; otherwise, type n. x) Change Display Mode to Verbose Changes the mode of the display in the search screen. Brief shows only file names. Verbose mode shows the standard UNIX file permissions and also uses m in the file type column to show files migrated by Veritas Storage Migrator for UNIX or Veritas Data Lifecycle Manager. l) List Archive Images... Displays a list of the archived images for the client that occurred between the Start Date and End Date. q) Quit Menu Returns to the main menu. h) Help Displays help. p) Change Search Path... Note: You cannot use NetBackup on the master server to redirect restores of a file to a different path on a NetBackup Novell NetWare client. For those clients, you must perform the redirected restore with the user interface on the NetWare client. y) Change Policy Type Changes the policy type. You can restore only to the same policy type used in the backup. This option is available only to the NetBackup administrator. k) Change Keyword Phrase Changes the keyword by which to search for backups.
