DESC=SMTP-based mail transfer agent sendmail(1M), its configuration hierarchy sendmail(4), the corresponding local delivery agent mail.local(1M), and various other mail-related utilities. The package provides the same extensions as the Solaris bundled sendmail package, however, it also supports SMTP authentication, provides m4 configuration snippets for all OS and comes with the original version of the sendmail vacation program and thus is compatible with the versions provided by other OS distributions like Linux. For more information see vacation(1). To keep system integrity and not getting into trouble on system updates/upgrades, this package has a different FMRI than the default on Solaris and allows one to use smpt-notify as well just by installing the alternative /system/fault-management/smtp-notify2 package.
