DESC=This library is a C-library for Linux, which provides APIs for In-band user space software to monitor and control the CPU’s power, energy, performance, and other system management functionality via the Host System Management Port (HSMP) using /dev/hsmp. To get HSMP working, the PCIe interface needs to be enabled in the BIOS via Advanced > AMD CBS > NBIO Common Options > SMU Common Options > HSMP Support. Furthermore the executing user must be able to read /dev/cpu/0/msr if the msr kernel module is loaded (which might be a security risk) and read and optionally write access to /dev/hsmp (kernel module hsmp_amd).
