Redirected Restore Use the xbp_destpath dialog (Restore > Specify Destination Path) to restore the items to a different location. To redirect a restore, you must specify the following: * Restore From. The pathname to search for files to restore. The pathname can be either a complete filename or an directory path; wild card characters are allowed. * Restore To. The pathname to use for the destination of the restore. It replaces the portion of any filename that matched the search string. If you specify a path that does not exist, NetBackup creates it when restoring the items. Both strings default to the current working directory as shown on the main xbp screen. To use the current directory of the xbp main window, click Current Directory. When you start a restore, the confirmation dialog allows you to confirm whether or not the substitution should be performed. You also can choose whether to rename hard and soft links during a redirected restore: Rename Hard Links Select to rename hard links so they point to the new path. The button is enabled when highlighted. Rename Soft Links Select to rename soft (symbolic) links so they point to the new path. The button is enabled when highlighted. To redirect a restore to a different client system, use the xbp_config dialog (File > Configuration). After completing your changes to the paths: * Click OK to use the Restore From and Restore To paths on the next restore. or * Click Cancel to cancel the changes so the previous paths are still used.
